Join us on the Jura trails. Belvederes, preserved forests, meadows and wooden pastures are waiting for you with the typical rich fauna and flora of the Jura
The Jura offers magical hiking opportunities through unspoilt valleys, peaks and ridges which we will enjoy to the full.
The natural environment in which we will evolve, and the signs of wildlife, will be given a great deal of attention. The forests, pastures and meadows of the Jura are rich in biodiversity with a fauna and flora that will offer itself to the attentive hiker. We may be lucky enough to see signs of lynx or wolf, predators of deer, chamois and roe deer also present in large numbers. The Capercaillie finds a precarious refuge in certain discreet places, not to mention the woodpeckers, owls and other ermines, squirrels and brown hares.
Hike details and programme
The hike will be prepared according to your choices and desires, physical condition, place of departure, choice of accommodation or - if on 2 days - the gîte or hotel. A bivouac or a night under tent are also possible, as well as the tasting of local specialities. Most of the time we will make a loop and will be able to tackle various themes that we will define together (fauna, flora, geology, culture and history, etc.)

Rainproof backpack (approx. 25 liters)
Personal belongings and medication, charged telephone
Tick repellant
Mountain boots (with ankel protection) with profiled / Vibram-type soles
Warm hiking clothes adapted to the season, at least:
1st technical layer, e.g. wool (avoid cotton), also for legs for cold weather / high altitudes
2nd warm layer with fleece jacket plus warm down (puff) jacket
Long pants and hiking jacket
If not waterproof: provide additional protection against rain
Sunglasses, sun cream, hat, possibly a pair of light gloves
1 liter of water minimum, 2 liters maximum, possibly a thermos
Snacks, dried fruit, etc.
Camera, binoculars (recommended)
Picnnic as per program specifics of the day

Dear Boudewijn, thank you very much for the good and informative tour. The stories about absinthe and the refugees of the 2nd World War in the Risoud forest were fascinating and took us back in time. And let's not forget the fine fondue at the end.

Mon fils de 15 ans et moi-même avons eu la chance de découvrir en compagnie de Boudewijn la forêt du Risoud, avec sa flore, sa faune, sa géologie et ses magnifiques paysages, mais surtout sa longue histoire de région transfrontalière et en particulier la période très difficile de l'occupation nazie en 1940-44. Boudewijn a été un parfait guide qui, par son discours, ses recherches poussées et les nombreux supports visuels qu'il avait préparés, a su nous fasciner et nous faire découvrir des personnes aux comportements héroïques et d'autres acteurs de ce pan d'histoire que tout le mondre devrait connaitre. Nous étions en "immersion" et c'était très émouvant à vivre et à partager entre les participants à cette randonnée très originale. Et la superbe fondue au fromage partagée en pleine nature a été un "plus" très appréciée. Je ne peux que vivement recommander au plus grand nombre cette très belle expérience.

"Why would I need a Mountain Leader?" I asked myself. "I've been hiking since I was a kid, I'm fit and I know it all. So no need for a Mountain Leader!" I thought. And then I had the chance to experience a hike with Peak2Peace and my world changed.
Boudewijn takes you in a complete new journey across mountains and nature. He makes you see everything under a new light, he shares stories and information about wild life, geology, nature and history.
Thanks to him I discovered a new, different approach to hiking and learned new things and lots of little secrets.
So today I go out as much as I can with Boudewijn as Mountain Leader because each time he takes me on an incredible, immersive, new journey in full security.
