An ideal route for discovering alpine hiking without any problems: four stages of limited length, flavoured by some rocky stretches and passages along ridges that are airy, but not too airy. A route also suitable for those who want to introduce young people, perhaps their children, to the mountains beyond the beaten track.

The scenery is that of the chain between Vallemaggia and Onsernone. Alternating between stretches along the slopes and others on the crests, the route offers 360° views of the Ticino Alps, the peaks of Lombardy and Piedmont and more distant massifs, such as the four-thousand metre peaks in the Valais. But there are also glimpses of the valleys nestling at our feet, of forests as far as the eye can see, of villages that look like miniatures from above, of roads resembling slender silver threads.
