I loved the hike "In the footsteps of the Passeurs of 39-45 int the Risoud"! For someone who isn't a great fan of walking, I found the route quite accessible and enjoyable. The guide's explanations of the historical context were fascinating, and I'll remember the fondue at the "Rendez-vous des sages" for a long time to come. A must for anyone who loves walking and history.

My 15-year-old son and I were lucky enough to discover the Risoud forest with Boudewijn, with its flora, fauna, geology and magnificent landscapes, but above all its long history as a cross-border region and in particular the very difficult period of the Nazi occupation in 1940-44. Boudewijn was a perfect guide who, through his speeches, his in-depth research and the many visual aids he had prepared, was able to fascinate us and introduce us to people who behaved heroically and other players in this part of history that everyone should know about. We were 'immersed' and it was a very moving experience to share with all the participants in this highly original walk. And the superb cheese fondue we shared in the middle of nature was a much-appreciated extra. I can't recommend this wonderful experience highly enough.

Dear Boudewijn, thank you very much for the good and informative tour. The stories about absinthe and the refugees of the 2nd World War in the Risoud forest were fascinating and took us back in time. And let's not forget the fine fondue at the end.

Went on a lovely two-day trek with Boudewijn, staying overnight at St Bernard Hospice. A wonderful area to explore with a sympathetic mountain guide - packed with knowledge about flora, fauna and geology. Highly recommended!

I learned a lot during this day. Boudewijn, our instructor, is passionate and it shows. Moreover, the setting is perfect for learning. A course that I recommend to all winter sports enthusiasts who are concerned about the dangers of the mountains.

The Passeurs hike in the Risoud is one of the most fascinating forest hikes I experienced. The coloured and couragious personalities that worked for the resistance and intelligence services during the war that the guide introduces along the way are becoming alive during the day, and eventually it is as if they walk with us. Visiting the different hideaways and secret passages is a treat in itself. Fantastic and highly recommended !

Boudewijn ticked all the boxes for a good guide, sharing knowledge, adding context to the destination, describing natural history and geology, and offering insights on contemporary issues. He also made great lemon and ginger tea!

J'ai adoré la randonnée "Sur les traces des passeurs de 39-45"! Pour quelqu'un qui n'est pas un grand fan de marche, j'ai trouvé ce parcours plutôt accessible et agréable. Les explications du guide sur le contexte historique sont passionnantes, et je me souviendrai encore longtemps de la fondue au "Rendez-vous des sages". A essayer absolument pour les férus de marche et d'histoire.

Quel magnifique trekking dans les alpes tessinoises. L'organisation est très professionnelle et attentive à chaque participant. Une superbe expérience au milieu des lacs cristallins.

Panorami mozzafiato, impegnativo fisicamente

Mon fils de 15 ans et moi-même avons eu la chance de découvrir en compagnie de Boudewijn la forêt du Risoud, avec sa flore, sa faune, sa géologie et ses magnifiques paysages, mais surtout sa longue histoire de région transfrontalière et en particulier la période très difficile de l'occupation nazie en 1940-44. Boudewijn a été un parfait guide qui, par son discours, ses recherches poussées et les nombreux supports visuels qu'il avait préparés, a su nous fasciner et nous faire découvrir des personnes aux comportements héroïques et d'autres acteurs de ce pan d'histoire que tout le mondre devrait connaitre. Nous étions en "immersion" et c'était très émouvant à vivre et à partager entre les participants à cette randonnée très originale. Et la superbe fondue au fromage partagée en pleine nature a été un "plus" très appréciée. Je ne peux que vivement recommander au plus grand nombre cette très belle expérience.

J’ai vécu deux jours où chaque minute m’a nourri de bonheur.
J’étais heureuse de vivre hors du temps, proche de la nature, à entendre le cerf bramer, suivre ses traces, observer les souilles, et faire des kilomètres oubliée de tous. Même l'oiseau posé sur sa brindille avait le sens du spectacle de par sa couleur, son chant et son envol...
Accompagnée par un homme intéressé, intéressant, désireux de transmettre sa passion et son savoir, le séjour s’est déroulé brillamment jusqu’au moindre petit détail. La fondue au coin du feu avait le goût de mille délices ! Merci encore pour ce moment très privilégié d’échange et de partage. A refaire !

"Why would I need a Mountain Leader?" I asked myself. "I've been hiking since I was a kid, I'm fit and I know it all. So no need for a Mountain Leader!" I thought. And then I had the chance to experience a hike with Peak2Peace and my world changed.
Boudewijn takes you in a complete new journey across mountains and nature. He makes you see everything under a new light, he shares stories and information about wild life, geology, nature and history.
Thanks to him I discovered a new, different approach to hiking and learned new things and lots of little secrets.
So today I go out as much as I can with Boudewijn as Mountain Leader because each time he takes me on an incredible, immersive, new journey in full security.
